1. About these terms
We, us and Modern Lane mean the business operating this website. You means the person using the website or placing an order. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site.
2. Products and descriptions
We describe every product as accurately as we can, including fabric, weight and measurements. Colours can look different on different screens, and garment measurements may vary by up to half an inch because clothing is cut and sewn by hand. These variations are normal and are not defects. Measurements shown on the size chart are taken flat across the garment, not around the body.
3. Prices
All prices are shown in Bangladeshi Taka and include all applicable taxes. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout and added to your total. We may change prices at any time, but a change will never affect an order that has already been confirmed. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a technical or human error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfil it at that price.
4. Orders
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm your order. We may decline or cancel an order where the item is out of stock, we cannot verify the delivery details given, the delivery address is outside the areas our couriers serve, or we reasonably believe the order is fraudulent or part of a pattern of repeatedly refused deliveries. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we refund you in full.
5. Payment
Cash on Delivery is our primary payment method. You pay the full amount, including delivery charge, in cash to the delivery person at the time of delivery. Please have the amount ready. You are entitled to open the parcel and inspect the item before paying.
6. Delivery
Estimated delivery times are 1 to 2 working days inside Dhaka and 2 to 4 working days elsewhere in Bangladesh. These are estimates, not guarantees. Delivery may take longer during Eid, national holidays, strikes, political disruption, severe weather or other events outside our control. You are responsible for giving a delivery address that can actually be found, and for being reachable on the mobile number you provided. If our courier cannot reach you after reasonable attempts, the parcel is returned to us and the order is cancelled.
7. Returns, exchanges and refunds
Governed by our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including photographs, product descriptions, text, logos, and the Modern Lane name, belongs to us and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it commercially without our written permission.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this website to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, to interfere with its operation, to place fraudulent orders, or to do anything unlawful.
10. Reviews and submitted content
If you post a product review, you confirm it reflects your genuine experience and that you own what you wrote. We may publish, edit for length, or remove reviews. We remove content that is abusive, misleading, off-topic, or promotes another business.
11. Limitation of liability
We are responsible for delivering the product you ordered in the condition described. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or missed occasions, arising from a delayed or failed delivery. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.
12. Third-party links
Our website and our advertisements may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any website we do not operate.
13. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you place your order is the version that applies to it.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangladesh.
