Modern Lane started with a simple frustration. Good clothes in Bangladesh were either imported and priced out of reach, or affordable and cut like an afterthought. There was very little in between for a man who just wants a shirt that fits properly and does not fall apart in four months.
So we made the in-between. We work with a small number of factories, we make a small number of styles, and we make each one properly. A shirt gets a collar that holds its shape. A tee gets a neck rib that does not sag. A panjabi gets a cut you can sit through a whole Eid day in.
What we care about
Fabric first. We pick the cloth before we pick the design. 240 GSM cotton feels different in your hand than 160 GSM, and you should be able to feel where your money went.
A short list, done well. We would rather make twelve things you will actually wear than a hundred you will scroll past. Every piece has to earn its place before we put it online.
Honest pricing. No inflated original price struck through to make a discount look bigger. The price on the page is the price, and it is the price because of what the garment costs to make.
Pay when it arrives. Cash on Delivery everywhere in Bangladesh. Open the parcel, look at what you ordered, then pay. We think that is simply how it should work when you are buying from someone new.
